📚Devotionals - Trying To Do New Things

TRYING TO DO NEW THINGSRosa Enid Cruz RoqueNovember 26, 2016
Sometimes God put things in our hearts to do or we want to do things like Peter did. God tell us go and do it, but when we see the wind (problems, suffering, etc.) we feel afraid. We can be sure that Jesus is with us to the very end of the age like He said in Matthew 28:20. We have to keep our eyes on Him and even if for some reason we doubt and fail, we can be sure that He is with us and He will reach out his hand and save us.

Things in life are not easy, but something to learn from this passage is that Peter tried. He was the only one who walk on water because He tried. We can also try to do the things God has placed on our hearts.

Something for us to think – What things God has put in our hearts that we should try to do?

Note – It is better to try something and fail than never try anything new and to never know if that thing was going to work.

Matthew 14:25, 32

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.

26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
